The movie will reportedly be directed by Punit Malhotra of the I Hate Luv Storys fame! Earlier, the movie was to be filmed with Imran Khan as the lead actor; however, he was replaced by Shahid Kapoor.
It’s a notable fact that Shahid Kapoor was offered a role in Kaal by Karan Johar in 2005! But Shahid Kapoor declined the role since Kareena Kapoor and Karan Johar were on sour terms at that time! Kareena Kapoor was apparently replaced by Preity Zinta for Kal Ho Na Ho which turned out to be a blockbuster; and back then, Shahid and Kareena were lovers!
However, while Shahid Kapoor’s fans must be really having a good time reading this news, there’s some disappointment for the fans of Sonam Kapoor; Shahid Kapoor’s gain is Sonam Kapoor’s loss! Sonam was supposed to be cast in the movie! But since Sonam and Shahid’s Mausam jodi was a dud at the BO, Karan thought it would be better to cast someone else as the female lead!
