Shahrukh Khan take a drink but its not a crime: Mumbai ACP Iqbal Sheikh: Iqbal Sheikh, Mumbai assistant commissioner of police (ACP), affirmed Thursday that film star and Kolkata Knight Riders' manager Shahrukh Khan was in a tanked state when he was included in a late Wednesday night fight at the Wankhede Stadium here in Mumbai.
"Shah Rukh was drunk. He was smelling of alcohol but he was not drinking at the Wankhede stadium. But it is not an offence. He was also abusing and threatening the MCA (Mumbai Cricket Association) and BCCI (Board of Control for Cricket in India) officials," declared Sheikh, who had to mediate Wednesday night to avert the episode from turning ugly.
Shahrukh Khan got into a fight with MCA and BCCI officials when his crew neutralized Mumbai Indians in an Indian Chief Class (IPL) match Wednesday night. Shah Rukh and his company, including Morani blood mates, would have liked to party about when the presentation ceremony but he was not permitted to do so. What maddened Shah Rukh was that MCA officials switched off the flood lights.
Sheikh, who is in addition part of the MCA managing committee, was show at the ground on match duty and had to hurry to avert the scenario from turning ugly.
"I took him out and separated him because the incident was turning ugly. While being taken away he was showering abuses on MCA and BCCI officials. We are investigating the matter," expressed Sheikh.
Asked if Shahrukh was incited by MCA officials, Sheikh declared: "We are not concerned about the provocation. We are only concerned about the act."
The MCA is reportedly regarding slapping an essence boycott on Shahrukh Khan.
